Penguatan Kegiatan Basarah pada Masyarakat Hindu Kaharingan Melalui Pendekatan Participatory Action Research di Desa Batu Puter Kebupaten Gunung Mas

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen the Basarah practice among the Hindu Kaharingan community in Batu Puter Village through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The background of this activity is the declining community participation, especially among the younger generation, as well as the limited understanding of the religious and cultural values embedded in Basarah. The method used is PAR, which involves stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation with active community participation as key partners. The activity was conducted for one month through a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata), including socialization, educational activities, and direct involvement in Basarah practices. The results indicate a significant increase in community participation, reflected in higher attendance and active involvement in activities. In addition, there is an improvement in the community’s understanding of religious and cultural values, particularly among the youth. The comparison of conditions before and after the program shows positive impacts on both social and religious aspects of the community. Therefore, the participatory approach through PAR is proven effective in enhancing collective awareness and strengthening the preservation of local traditions sustainably
