Tantangan Penggunaan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam Pendidikan Hindu

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world of education has brought various changes, including in Hindu religious education. AI offers various advantages such as wider access to learning, more efficient data analysis, and more interactive learning methods. However, its application in Hindu education faces several challenges, both from technical, philosophical, and social aspects. One of the main challenges is the limitations of AI in understanding and conveying Hindu spiritual values which rely heavily on direct interaction between teachers and students. In addition, there are concerns that the use of AI could reduce direct experience in religious practice and potentially shift the role of teachers as spiritual guides. This research aims to identify the main challenges in the application of AI in Hindu education, analyze its impact on learning methods and the role of Hindu religious teachers, and formulate appropriate strategies to integrate AI without eliminating the essence of spiritual values. Using a qualitative approach through literature studies, this study finds that although AI can play a role as a learning aid, its use must still be controlled to be in line with the principles of Hindu education. Some of the strategies that can be implemented include the Blended Learning approach, teacher training in AI integration, the development of AI based on Hindu values, and the preparation of policies that regulate its use so as not to eliminate aspects of spiritual experience and religious practices. The implications of this study show that AI can be used to improve the effectiveness of Hindu education if applied with a balanced approach between technological innovation and the preservation of traditional values. Therefore, the use of AI in Hindu education must be carried out gradually, closely supervised, and supported by clear regulations to provide maximum benefits without sacrificing the essence of education based on Hindu spiritual and cultural values.
